Here are few take a ways for oil Paintings….
- Select Scenic pictures if you are a learner / Beginners
- Slice the picture into smaller grids if it’s a complex one. A bigger is adequate for simple pictures.
- For landscapes do not try with Free Hand.
- For landscapes pictures draw base color first, dry it and then add details to it.
- A color can be highlighted only using its complementary color. So first learn the complementary color wheel.
- Use Artist rubber instead of normal ones.
- Use Linseed oil to thin the oil colors
- Use Turpentine to clean Brushes
- Better try with canvas board as it gives richness to the painting
- Draw the Horizon level such that both halves are not equal.
- Make the colors lighter when going up from the bottom horizon. (The bottom horizon suppose to realize its near you ).
